Rialto entertainment lawyer and “A Chorus Line” producer John Breglio will receive the Actors Fund Medal of Honor at the org’s 125th anni celebration at Carnegie Hall Oct. 15.
Patti LuPone presents the award to Breglio. Afterward Brian Stokes Mitchell, the thesp (“Kiss Me, Kate”) who is prexy of the Fund, will perform a benefit solo concert.
As a lawyer, Breglio’s clients have included legit names such as Stephen Sondheim, Andrew Lloyd Webber, August Wilson and Joseph Papp. He is the executor of helmer-choreographer Michael Bennett’s estate, and made his first venture into producing with the current revival of Bennett’s “Chorus Line.”
Breglio also is chair of Theater Development Fund and is affiliated with nonprofits that include the Alliance for the Arts and Young Playwrights.
Service org the Actors Fund provides support programs for entertainment industry professionals. Recent recipients of the Medal of Honor include Gotham producers Rocco Landesman and Roger Berlind.
