NEW YORK — The Roundabout Theater Company’s Broadway production of London hit “The 39 Steps” has set dates and a cast, with previews beginning Jan. 4 for a Jan. 15 opening at the American Airlines Theater.

Cast, a complete transfer of the ensemble that appeared in the show at Boston’s Huntington Theater this fall, will include Charles Edwards, who starred in the Hitchcock spoof in the U.K., along with Arnie Burton, Jennifer Ferrin and Cliff Saunders.

Maria Aitken directs Patrick Barlow’s comic adaptation of “The 39 Steps” (which was a novel by John Buchan before it was a Hitchcock pic) based on an original concept by Simon Corble and Nobby Dimon. The Roundabout produces in association with Bob Boyett and the Huntington, among others.

In other Roundabout news, the org’s Rialto production of “The Ritz” has proved popular enough to warrant a weeklong extension. Helmer Joe Mantello’s revival of the 1975 Terrence McNally comedy, which stars Rosie Perez and Kevin Chamberlin, will now play through Dec. 9.
