SXSW ‘OK’ for Park pic’s preem

Film festival opens March 9

The South by Southwest Film Festival has selected the North American premiere of Chan-wook Park’s new film, “I’m a Cyborg, but That’s OK,” to close the fest on March 17 in Austin, Texas.

Park’s the director of “Oldboy” and “Sympathy for Lady Vengeance.”

The festival opens March 9 with Scott Frank’s “The Lookout.” New additions to the sked include Eric Chaikin’s documentary “A Lawyer Walks Into a Bar,” Kris Carr’s doc “Crazy Sexy Cancer” and Shannon O’Rourke docu “Maybe Baby.”

In addition, SXSW has unveiled a music documentaries retrospective that will include Ron Mann’s “Imagine the Sound,” D.A. Pennebaker’s “Monterey Pop” and Bruce Weber’s “Let’s Get Lost.”

Fest also announced it’s partnered with the Daily Reel to showcase an evening of the year’s best online videos on March 12, repping what’s touted as the first time a major film festival has held a showcase focusing exclusively on Web video content and artists.
