BERLIN — German producer-distrib Splendid has inked a long-term content deal with ProSiebenSat 1’s video-on-demand portal Maxdome.
Agreement encompasses some 200 Splendid productions including “Traffic,” “Gangs of New York,” “Dr. T. and the Women,” and James Franco starrer “James Dean” plus other U.S. action films and Asian titles.
“The marketing of programming over video-on-demand is becoming increasingly vital,” noted Splendid topper Andreas Klein.
He added: “We have found in Maxdome a major partner for the distribution of our content.”
Deal is the latest programming agreement for Maxdome, which has signed several similar pacts with domestic and international distribs such as CBS Paramount Intl., Buena Vista Intl. Television, Sony Pictures Television Intl. and Turner Broadcasting.
