Lightning captures ‘Cougar’

Duddy directed comedy is produced by Open Sky

BERLIN — L.A.-based Lightning Entertainment has snapped up international sales rights to a comedy called “The Cougar Club” from Open Sky Entertainment.

Directed by Christopher Duddy (“Leaving Peoria”), pic follows two recent college grads who get caught up in a so-called cougar club — a coterie of young men who sexually service older women.

Jason Jurman and Warran Kole topline. Faye Dunaway and Carrie Fisher are among the “cougars.”

The concept of a “Cougar Club” has entered the national consciousness via key news stories in the national press and on TV.

“Cougar Club is a sharp comedy which delivers an entertaining take on a pop-cultural phenom,” Lightning co-prexy Richard Guardian said.

Pic is one of the movies being licensed by Lightning at the EFM in Berlin.
