BERLIN — After years of making some of RTL Television’s most successful series, stuntman-turned-producer Hermann Joha of Cologne-based shingle Action Image is producing an English-language action pic for rival ProSieben.
The street-racing actioner, “Fast Track: No Limits,” focuses on a group of fast and furious drivers who live for the thrill of speed.
Pic, penned by “Monk” scribe Lee Goldberg, stars Erin Cahill, Joseph Beattie and Andrew Walker.
Axel Sand, who helmed Action Image’s 2006 TV movie “Final Contract: Death on Delivery,” starring Drew Fuller, is directing “Fast Track.”
Currently shooting in Berlin, pic marks Action Image’s first production for ProSieben.
Joha, who also heads RTL subsidiary Action Concept, set up Action Image to independently produce TV movies and feature films, including “Final Contract” and the English-language “Lasko,” about a traumatized former KFOR soldier who seeks peace in a monastery but ends up joining the secret order Pugnus Dei (The Fist of God), an elite unit of monks who fight for justice while trying to avoid killing.
Pic starred Arnold Vosloo (“The Mummy”).
Joha also produced the Teutonic chopsockey actioner “Kampfansage.”
Action Concept, meanwhile, continues to produce one of RTL’s most successful series of all times, “Alarm for Cobra 11.” The hit highway cop show recently won Action Concept its fourth Taurus World Stunt Award for best action in a foreign film.
