LONDON — Ireland is enjoying a flurry of filmmaking, with four pics starting production within a few days of each other, all backed by the Irish Film Board.

“Alarm,” directed by Gerry Stembridge, is a contemporary thriller that starts shooting Nov. 5 in Wicklow and Dublin. It stars Ruth Bradley and Tom Hickey, and is co-financed by Irish pubcaster RTE, the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland and Sweden’s Film i Vast/Gotafilm.

“Daisy Chain,” a supernatural horror film by Aisling Walsh, started Oct. 29. It stars Samantha Morton and Steven Mackintosh, and is co-financed by the Wales Creative IP Fund, the Limelight Fund and the BCI, with ContentFilm Intl. handled worldwide rights. Production is in Mayo and Wales.

Dylan Moran (“Run, Fat Boy, Run”) is starring in “A Film With Me in It,” a comedy thriller directed by Ian Fitzgibbon for Parallel Pictures, currently shooting in Dublin.

“Our Wonderful Home” is a low-budgeter written and directed by Ivan Kavanagh, about a wealthy teenage girl whose greed leads to a violent tragedy for her family. It will shoot from Nov. 5 for three weeks in Dublin, with Emma Eliza Regan in the lead role.
