Fireworks clinches Harmony deal

ContentFilm prepares for takeover

LONDON — Fireworks Intl., the TV distribution arm of ContentFilm, has signed a five-year deal to sell 300 hours of programming from Harmony Gold, while ContentFilm has confirmed that it is still the target of takeover talks.

Syntek Capital, one of the company’s principal shareholders, has transferred its 32.5% stake to another entity wholly owned by Syntek, in maneuvering that may be connected to the possible sale of the business.

Content recently had its library independently revalued from $54 million to $84 million.

The Harmony Gold deal gives Fireworks the rights to shows including “Robotech,” “Shaka Zulu” and “Around the World in 80 Days.” Separately, Fireworks has picked up two new series: “The Assistants,” a U.S. sitcom produced by the Tom Lynch Company for the N Channel, and “Dad’s in the Attic,” a Canadian kids comedy.
