Film Independent has announced its fourth annual Directors Showcase selections, spotlighting award-winning shorts from past and current fellows of its diversity mentorship program.

Event will take place April 26 at the Redcat venue in the Disney Concert Hall complex in downtown Los Angeles, followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers. Jessie Garcia will host.

Projects and their directors include “Primera Comunion,” by Daniel Eduvijes Carrera; “Fast Money,” by Jerry Chan; “Nagpapanggap,” by Debbie Formoso; “Conversion,” by Nanobah Becker; “Best Kept Secret,” by Malik Booth; and “Make a Wish,” by Cherien Dabis.

The mentorship program, Project Involve, accepts 40 filmmakers annually, paired with one-on-one mentors from the film industry. Past mentors include Christopher Nolan, Alexander Payne, John Singleton, Nicole Holofcener, Forest Whitaker, Spike Jonze and Kasi Lemmons.
