Production designer Robert Boyle will receive an honorary Oscar at the upcoming 80th Academy Awards celebration.
The kudo, bestowed by the AMPAS board of governors, honors Boyle’s career in art direction and production design. With nearly 100 film credits, he has been nominated for four Academy Awards and an Emmy, and he has won several lifetime achievement awards.
Boyle, who frequently worked with helmer Alfred Hitchcock, was also the subject of an Oscar-nominated documentary, “The Man on Lincoln’s Nose.”
The 80th Academy Awards will take place Feb. 24.
