Helmers Matthias Glasner and Lars Kraume and thesp Juergen Vogel have set up production company Badlands Film in Berlin.
Glasner worked with Vogel on rape drama “The Free Will,” which won the actor a Silver Bear at the Berlinale last year.
Vogel is prepping his directorial debut, an untitled drama about hooligan violence in Eastern Germany.
Kraume, who recently shot the semifictional rock biopic “Keine lieder ueber liebe” with Vogel, is penning “The Days to Come,” a family chronicle that starts in the present and reaches 30 years into the future.
Glasner is working on “This Is Love,” a drama about love and loneliness with a thriller element in its plot.
Partners say Badlands, whose moniker is a tribute to helmer Terrence Malick’s classic 1973 pic and the filmmaking era it represents, was founded as a forum for self-penned pics. Shingle is open to collaborations with other filmmakers.
