Beating out two other studios, Warner Bros. has snapped up the “For Richer or Poorer” pitch from scribes Michael Colton and John Aboud.
Peter Principato and Paul Young’s Principato-Young is producing the comedy.
Storyline revolves around a thief who teams up with her ex-boyfriend to stage a fake wedding at the Natural History Museum in New York as a cover for the perfect heist.
Colton and Aboud have multiple projects set up around town, including “Mild Things” at New Line, which Frank Coraci is set to direct. They also penned “Over My Dead Body” and “Nick Skyler” for Montecito Pictures, as well as animated laffer “Baratunde of Brentwood” for Principato-Young and 20th Television.
Principato-Young, which has a first-look deal with 20th Century Fox, is producing Jim Carrey starrer “Me Time” at Fox, Will Arnett starrer “Space Invader” at Fox Atomic and “The Way Back” at Fox Searchlight. Company also is producing “Mild Things.”
