Mandate Pictures has bolstered its production team by upping Nicole Brown to senior veep of production and hiring Tendo Nagenda and Candice Grabois as veep of production and director of marketing and publicity, respectively.

Brown, who was veep of production, will lead Mandate’s creative team, which includes Mary Lee and Nagenda. Before Mandate, she was a development exec at Marc Platt Prods.

Mandate prexy Nathan Kahane lauded the team for “their collective vision, creative skills, knowledge and experience, (which) will be integral as Brown continues to build an environment that fosters distinctive and compelling films and filmmakers.”

Nagenda segues from Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment, where he was a creative exec and worked on several projects in development, including Paramount’s “World War Z” and DreamWorks’ “Zebra Murders.” He started his career at Mark Johnson’s Gran Via Prods. and later joined Warner Independent Pictures as an assistant before he was promoted to development executive.

Grabois previously was a senior publicist at Lisa Taback Consulting, where she worked on awards season campaigns for pics including “The Pursuit of Happyness” and “The Aviator.”

Mandate was acquired by Lionsgate during the summer, but it continues to operate as an autonomous brand. The company’s credits include “Stranger Than Fiction” and “Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle.”
