The Times London Film Festival is expanding its industry calendar for the 51st edition, which runs Oct. 17-Nov. 1.
The most significant new offering is the Production Finance Market, launched by Film London in association with the fest.
The Oct. 22-23 market at the Tower Bridge Marriott will focus on new private forms of investment, film finance and new distribution avenues.
Event will welcome 120 international and U.K. financiers and producers, who will engage in more than 400 hours of face-to-face meetings, arranged by project manager Angus Finney and staff at Film London.
Most of the producers at PFM will be established industry figures, but 11 slots will go to emerging producers who have already received training. Financiers from hedge funds, private equity groups and banks will attend.
Industry screenings for 42 pics in the fest, all of which are available for U.K. and world sales, will take place from Oct. 22-25 at the Curzon Soho Theater. Last year, U.S. indie “Half Nelson” picked up a U.K. distrib via this route.
The London Film Festival will host digital distribution forum “Power to the Pixel” on Oct. 26 and a seminar mulling the topic “Creative producer — a contradiction in terms?” on Oct. 24.
In addition, the Meet the Buyer session returns for a second year.
The PFM is supported by the U.K. Film Council, U.K. Trade and Investment, Skillset, the London Development Agency and Peacefulfish.
