The 57th Berlin Film Festival will open Feb. 8 with the world premiere of “La Vie en rose,” Olivier Dahan’s biopic of French singer Edith Piaf.
Pic starring Marion Cotillard as Piaf will screen in the main competition.
Piaf’s life was a roller coaster of triumph and tragedy, summed up in one of her most famous songs, “Non, je ne regrette rien.”
The film, produced by Alain Goldman, has been sold worldwide by TF1 Intl. to distribs including Picturehouse in the U.S., Constantin in Germany, TFM in France and Icon in the U.K.
