First Take gets 'Wild'

IFC Entertainment has acquired coming-of-age pic “Wild Tigers I Have Known” for its day-and-date label First Take.

Movie, exec produced by Scott Rudin and Gus Van Sant, among others, centers on a 13-year-old who has a crush on another boy. Cam Archer wrote, directed and produced.

Lars Knudsen and Jay Van Hoy are also exec producers. The film earned an Independent Spirit Award nom for cinematography.

Company is planning a release for the end of February, when it will also become available via On Demand on Comcast as well as IFC corporate sib Cablevision.

Movie played Sundance last year and has made other stops on the festival circuit, including Sarasota, Seattle and Lincoln Center’s New Directors/New Films.
