Entertainment Value Associates has picked up international rights to Jean-Louis Guillermou’s French biopic “Antonio Vivaldi, un prince a Venise” (Antonio Vivaldi, a Prince of Venice).
Pic, starring the late Michel Serrault and Stefano Dionisi, chronicles the life and death of the 18th-century Venetian composer.
“Vivaldi,” which was budgeted at more than $4 million, is set to premiere today in Paris.
Commenting on the acquisition, EVA topper Kai Gruenecke, a shareholder in the firm along with entertainment group Odeon Film, said the new partnership with Munich-based international distrib Atlas Intl. Film has “made a German company like EVA a more attractive partner for foreign producers.”
EVA last week took a majority stake in Atlas. The group boasts a combined catalog of more than 500 films and TV productions.
