‘Days’ dawns for Kino Int’l

Kim film won Special Jury Prize at Sundance

Kino Intl. has picked up North American theatrical rights to “In Between Days,” director So Yong Kim’s debut feature that premiered in competition at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival.

The film follows a group of Korean teens who recently emigrated to the U.S. As the main characters navigate the snowy landscape of a nameless Midwestern city, friendships change and romantic entanglements multiply, yielding a vivid portrait of alienation and cultural identity.

Critics and fest auds generally lauded the pic, which won the Fipresci Critics award at Berlin and a Special Jury Prize at Sundance.

After opening June 27 at Gotham’s IFC Center, a limited theatrical release is planned. Sundance Channel plans to air the film thereafter.

Pic was repped by Roger Kass.
