Rogue Pictures has optioned Jeremy Passmore’s thriller spec “Summer’s End” for Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes to produce.

Project revolves around a group of teens in a small Oregon town who survive a deadly virus that wipes out the adult population and must fight for their lives when the military attempts to quarantine the area.

Passmore’s penning a rewrite of the project as part of the low-six-figure deal.

Platinum Dunes’ Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller will produce; the company’s Matt Smith is co-producing.

Passmore is rewriting “The Prince” with writing partner Andre Fabrizio for John Carpenter to direct. Circle of Confusion’s Rick Jacobs is producing.

He previously co-wrote and co-directed “Special,” starring Michael Rapaport. That pic screened at the Sundance Film Festival.
