Exhibition confab ShowEast has tapped New Line president of domestic distribution David Tuckerman to receive the annual Show E Award at its upcoming confab running Oct. 12-18 in Orlando, Fla.
Tuckerman will receive the honor — for achievements and contributions in the motion picture biz — at the closing-night banquet at the Orlando World Marriott World Center. Last year’s recipients were 20th Century Fox senior veepees of distribution Chris Aronson and Bert Livingston.
Tuckerman has been distribution prexy at New Line since 2000, overseeing the rollout of pics including “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy, “Hairspray,” “Wedding Crashers” and “Austin Powers.”
Prior to joining New Line in 1999 as exec VP and general sales manager, Tuckerman was the head film buyer for the United Artist Theater Circuit’s Southeast region. Before that, he worked at Loews/Sony Theaters. He also spent 15 years with Music Makers Theaters.
