Thesp to present Sci-Tech Awards Saturday

Maggie Gyllenhaal has been tapped to present the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences’ Scientific & Technical Awards Saturday at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel.

Thesp had a busy year, earning acclaim for her work in “Sherrybaby,” “World Trade Center,” “Stranger Than Fiction” and animated feature nominee “Monster House.”

Highlights of this year’s Sci-Tech Awards will air during the 79th Academy Awards telecast on Feb. 25, including the Gordon E. Sawyer Award given to Ray Feeney.

Kudos are presented by the Academy for devices, methods, formulas, discoveries or inventions of special and outstanding value to the arts and sciences of motion pictures.
