‘CSI’ nabs two awards at HPA gala

Post Alliance ceremony also honors 'Bourne'

“CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” took two awards as the Hollywood Post Alliance gave out its second annual HPA Awards.

Skein took honors for TV color grading, with kudo going to Paul Westerbeck of the Post Group for episode “Built to Kill, Part I”; and for audio post, with award going to Mace Matiosian, Bill Smith, Yuri Reese, Ruth Adelman, Jivan Tahmizian and Chad Hughes of Todd AO for “Living Doll.”

Snta Monica-based Company 3 took two color grading awards: Stefan Sonnenfeld for “300” and Dave Hussey for Nike commercial “Take Over.”

“The Bourne Ultimatum” took feature film audio post honors.

In addition to presenting its awards, the HPA announced a new award to be given starting next year: the Charles S. Swartz award for outstanding contribution in the field of post-production.

Multihyphenate Swartz was an educator, tech consultant and mentor to many in the post industry. He was instrumental in advancing digital cinema and digital post. He died Feb. 10.
