‘Invisible Target’ goes to Weinsteins

TWC pick up rights to Hong Kong action film

The Weinstein Co. has picked up North American rights to “Invisible Target,” a Hong Kong-China actioner from helmer Benny Chan (“New Police Story”).

Company also acquired rights for Australia and South Africa from producer and sales shingle Universe Intl. TWC has not yet set release plans.

The $8 million pic opens in parts of Asia next week, with Universe handling Hong Kong, Poly Bona giving it a very wide 500-print outing in mainland China, Innoform in Singapore and Grand Brilliance in Malaysia.

Nicolas Tse, Shawn Yue, Wu Jing and Jackie Chan’s son Jaycee Chan star.
