KushTV is partnering with Contrafilm for distributing and development of content for KushTV.com and the KushTV syndication network.
The alliance is aimed at allowing KushTV to distribute original content from ContraFilm (“The Guardian”) while providing the production company another option for unveiling new actors, directors and writers. The companies said the partnership will allow KushTV to move into producing original shorts and features for the online network and then possibly extend that content into more traditional Hollywood formats.
The companies also said they’re looking to take advantage of the impact of the writers’ strike.
“We look at the current state of Hollywood as a golden opportunity for Contrafilm to get involved with the internet…and KushTV was the perfect alliance,” said Beau Flynn, Contrafilm co-founder. “The entertainment world is rapidly growing and developing a harmonious union with the online space.”
Flynn will be on KushTV’s advisory board. KushTV currently has channel partnerships with 50 partners such as Helio, YouTube, MySpace TV, Veoh and Akimbo.
