WB sells titles to Fox stations

'Harry Potter,' 'Batman' part of deal

Two “Harry Potter” movies, “Batman Begins” and “Ocean’s Twelve” are heading for TV syndication a few years from now, following their runs on broadcast and cable TV.

Warner Bros. Domestic TV Distribution has bundled these four titles, along with 31 others, and is selling the movies to Fox-owned TV stations in 11 markets, including New York, Los Angeles and Chicago, as well as to stations owned by such entities as CBS TV, Tribune Broadcasting, Sinclair Broadcasting, Gannett, Cox and Hearst-Argyle.

The “Potter” titles are “Goblet of Fire” and “Prisoner of Azkaban.” Other movies include “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” “March of the Penguins,” “Million Dollar Baby,” “The Matrix Revolutions,” “The Last Samurai” and “Troy.”

Engineering the deal for the company were Ken Werner, president of Warner Bros. Domestic TV Distribution, and the division’s exec VP and general sales manager, Rick Meril.
