GOP’s 08ers Face Off

The first debate of Republican candidates starts in a little less than a half hour.

Pundits are taking guesses on how many times Ronald Reagan will be mentioned. Candidates are looking for some traction in a field that has drawn disappointment from some GOP circles. And the lesser known contenders will look for their moments.

Airplanes flying antiwar banners flew over the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in the hours before the debate, co-sponsored by MSNBC and The Politico.com.

The Politico says that the ads were sponsored by an anti-war coalition that includes MoveOn.org and VoteVets.org, two groups that also unveiled new spots directed by Oliver Stone.
