Club Kucinich

After the gay issues forum on Thursday evening, Dennis Kucinich will be hitting the Circus Disco in Hollywood for what is being billed as a “marriage equality reception.”

He joins Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and John Edwards with post-forum fund-raisers all within a few miles of each other.

Kucinich’s event will start at 8 p.m. at the Santa Monica Boulevard nightclub, which is a decidedly younger crowd than the Abbey, where Clinton will be. Obama will be at Area on La Cienaga Boulevard and Edwards will be at Republic Restaurant and Lounge nearby.

A flyer bills Kucinich as “the only candidate who supports marriage equality,” although Mike Gravel would beg to differ. Gravel was at first excluded from the Human Rights Campaign/Logo forum but later invited after his campaign raised a protest.

The $25 per-person reception is hosted by Los Angeles city councilman Bill Rosendahl, Jim Mangia of St. John’s Well Child and Family Center, actress Shelley Morrison, AIDS Healthcare Foundation President Michael Weinstein and visual and performing artist Tom “Atom” English.
