Relatively little attention has been paid to the GOP equation in Hollywood, and certainly there's been very scant coverage of Sen. Sam Brownback's presidential bid here. After all, he is seemingly outside the Hollywood mainstream as a candidate positioning himself as the social conservative's conservative. But Brownback is among the politicos in town this week.
Friday night he's scheduled to appear at a panel discussion in Westwood that follows a screening of Walden Media's "Amazing Grace," which tells the story of British abolitionist William Wilberforce. Campaign spokesman Brian Hart says that Brownback is deeply inspired by Wilberforce, a member of the British parlaiment who waged a 20-year effort to abolish the slave trade in the British empire.
