Fox World senior VP of production Hayley Babcock has become the latest exec to leave Fox Television Studios following the arrival of president Emiliano Calemzuk earlier this year.
Fox World is the local production and co-production arm of Fox Television Studios.
Babcock is ankling her position to take on a similar role at Sony Pictures Television Intl. Prods. as senior VP, format acquisitions, creative and production.
“It is a wonderful opportunity, and I am very excited about it,” she told colleagues via email.
Babcock will start with Sony at this week’s Mipcom mart in Cannes.
During her time at Fox World, she was involved in setting up local co-productions of numerous Fox formats, including “Temptation Island,” “Joe Millionaire,” and “My Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance.”
Prior to joining Fox World in 2001, she served as director of international programming and production for King World/CBS, where she launched a number of international productions, including “Jeopardy!” and “Wheel of Fortune.”
Previously, she spent seven years in Germany working as a producer at Grundy/Fremantle and as head of entertainment at regional station 1A-Berlin.
Babcock’s former boss Chris Ottinger, exec VP of Fox Television Studios Intl. and Fox World, was among the first execs to be let go following Calemzuk’s appointment in April.
Since then Fox TV Studios has also shut down its London production operation, and Babcock’s departure will fuel further speculation over the future of its other local production outfits in India and France.
