Having jolted the L.A. landscape by setting up shop in Century City, CAA is getting in on Gotham’s luxe condo boom, building a screening room designed by high-end architect Rem Koolhaas.
Venue will be inside One Madison Park, a complex under construction near the landmark Flatiron Building that has floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Madison Park. The address isn’t for bargain-hunters; the penthouse apartment is already listed at $45 million, though the building will not be ready for occupancy until 2010.
Koolhaas and his firm, the Office for Metropolitan Architecture, are repped by CAA, which is how the deal came about. The rest of the 22-story residential building will be comprised of 21 individual residences.
A website for One Madison Park touts the use of a “private screening room” but doesn’t mention CAA specifically.
OMA is known for designing the Prada store in Gotham, the Seattle Central Library and other sites.
