Axel Springer gets court approval

Company gets OK to take over ProSiebenSat1

German print publishing house Axel Springer has received court approval to challenge a decision that blocked it from taking over TV group ProSiebenSat1 from U.S. mogul Haim Saban two years ago.

Upon a complaint filed by Springer, Germany’s Federal Court in Karlsruhe on Tuesday ruled that the case should be re-examined. By questioning the cartel office’s decision, Springer intends to gain legal direction for future takeovers. According to press reports, the publisher has not given up its interest in ProSiebenSat1.
