Forever Glamorous

Raquel Welch, 66, will be the new Icon for Estee Lauder cosmetics in 2007. She follows Icons Catherine Deneuve, 2006, and Diana Ross, 2005.

The M.A.C. line includes makeup, eye shadow, lipstick, etc. I can tell you Raquel is as beautiful as eve, having been nose to nose, lip to lip with her when I interviewed Raquel on camera at the “Hollywoodland” premiere in front of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences on Wilshire Blvd.

The Estee Lauder campaign begins in mid-January. Raquel, the mother of two, daughter Tawnee and son Damon, is developing a pilot for Lifetime. It is almost autobiographical. In 1966, the bikini’d, voluptuous Raquel Welch was launched to stardom in “One Million Years, B.C.” She remains a knockout today and, no doubt an inspiration to baby-boomers—or why Estee Lauder chose her.
