Billy Crystal has added five shows to his stand at the Wilshire Theater in L.A. with his must-see "700 Sundays," now closing Feb.25.
What follows? He’s talking a fall bow on London’s boards and is awaiting scripts of two features from New Line, "Have A Nice Day," and "Hairspray." I’ve got news for him on the latter.
Producers Craig Zadan and Neal Meron have just received the "Hairspray" script from Leslie Dixon ("Mrs. Doubtfire") and say it is terrif. Billy would play Wilbur, the husband. Wife Edna — a male in drag — is yet to be cast as is daughter Tracy. Natch all will sing and dance — and make us laugh.
