SABC helps auds pitch in

World Brief

JOHANNESBURG — Senior editors from the South African Broadcasting Corp. hit the road April 24 on a nationwide tour to ask viewers and professional producers for pitches.

Mvuzo Mbebe, CEO of content enterprise at the SABC, says the aim is to open up the commissioning process by cutting red tape. The panel will decide on a proposal immediately and give letters of interest or rejection the same day.

Mbebe says the strategy was the culmination of discussions with industryites during the Sithengi Film and TV Market in November, and was in line with the SABC’s commitment to stimulate the local television, radio and film production industry.
