NBC is developing a pilot from scribe Rand Ravich about a cop who uses a Zen-like approach to capture criminals.

“Life,” from NBC Universal TV Studio, follows the story of a cop who’s wrongly imprisoned. He’s eventually released and rejoins the force as a changed man.

Ravich is set to write and exec produce the hourlong drama; Far Shariat is aboard as an exec producer.

“Life” marks a reunion for Ravich and the Peacock, where the writer created the pilot “NY-70” in 2005. Based on “The French Connection,” “NY-70” (which starred Donnie Wahlberg and Bobby Cannavale) scored high marks among most who screened it, but the project was not picked up to series.

Ravich’s other credits include writing and directing the feature “The Astronaut’s Wife” and serving as an exec producer on George Clooney’s “Confessions of a Dangerous Mind.”

NBC hopes to begin production on “Life” later this year.
