Fox has notched another Wednesday ratings victory behind the “American Idol” results show, but ABC also scored with “Lost” and NBC got another big perf from “Deal or No Deal.”

At Fox, “Bones” opened the night with a solid second-place finish (4.0 rating/11 share in adults 18-49, 11.2 million viewers overall), and “American Idol” mushroomed at 9 to a dominant 11.2/26 in the demo and 27.3 million viewers overall. Unscripted skein “Unanimous” closed things out with a second-place finish at 9:30 (6.3/16 in 18-49, 14.4 million viewers overall), down about 10% from its week-earlier premiere but still better than other recent post-“Idol” Wednesday series.

ABC started modestly with “George Lopez” (2.4/7 in 18-49, 6.6 million viewers overall) and “Freddie” (6.4 million viewers overall) before rising at 9 with “Lost” (6.6/16 in 18-49, 16.1 million viewers overall), which moved to the timeslot lead at 9:30 after “Idol” ended. New drama “The Evidence” again placed second at 10 (3.1/8 in 18-49, 8.0 million viewers overall), a roughly 10% decline from its bow the previous week.

At NBC, don’t be surprised if “Deal or No Deal” becomes a Wednesday regular after delivering the net’s highest regular-program scores in the 8 o’clock hour in more than five years (first-place 5.4/15 in 18-49, 16.1 million viewers overall). Net went downhill from there, with “Law & Order” again placing fourth at 9 (2.7/6 in 18-49, 9.4 million viewers overall) and “Heist” dropping about 15% from its premiere to run third at 10 (2.5/7 in 18-49, 7.4 million viewers overall).

CBS was weak out of the gate with its fifth-place comedies “Out of Practice” (1.7/5 in 18-49, 6.3 million viewers overall) and “Courting Alex” (1.7/4 in 18-49, 6.3 million viewers overall). “Criminal Minds” moved up to third place at 9 (3.5/8 in 18-49, 12.4 million viewers overall), and “CSI: NY” won at 10 (4.6/12 in 18-49, 14.7 million viewers overall).

UPN was solid as usual at 8 with “America’s Next Top Model” (2.3/6 in 18-49, 4.7 million viewers overall), running third in 18-34 (3.0/9), but “Veronica Mars” fumbled away about two-thirds of the aud at 9. The WB’s “Bedford Diaries” was dead on arrival (0.9/2 in 18-49, 1.9 million viewers overall), although it did beat “Veronica” in 18-34 (1.3/3 vs. 1.1/3).
