Spanish broadcaster Cuatro has sold procedural “Genesis, en la mente del asesino” (Genesis, In the Assassin’s Mind) to Gallic TV network M6, Cuatro’s first fiction export deal since its bow a year ago.
Produced by Boomerang TV, “Genesis” is a suspenser skein toplining Veronica Sanchez as a criminal psychologist detective.
Airing in primetime Wednesday, “Genesis” notched up an average share of 6.1% and will bow on M6 next spring. Its second season is being taped.
Spanish-language TV series are steadily racking up more sales and sometimes appreciable ratings abroad. The most recent hit is sitcom “The Serranos.”
Produced by Globomedia and broadcast by Spain’s Telecinco, format was used in Italy as “I Cesaroni” where it achieved a 22.1% share on Canale 5.
“Serrano” turns on a couple, each with another marriage behind them, and a total five children from their previous relationships. In Spain, the latest episode has ratcheted up an 26.7% share and 3.1 million viewers, 4.5 percentage points above Telecinco’s average channel share.
