Bulgaria’s Eurobet gambles on TV

Eurobet launching sat channel Chance TV on Monday

BUDAPEST — Globally, gambling is moving from casinos to the Internet, but gamblers in Bulgaria can get their fix by way of the remote control.

On Monday, the Bulgarian gaming company Eurobet will launch the sat channel Chance TV, which will report real-time results of the Eurochance Lottery and will be aired via satellite and on Bulgarian cable systems.

Eurobet executive Samuila Zhekova said Chance TV will later add sports and entertainment news to its lineup.  Owned by Bulgarian tycoon Vassil Bozhkov, the Eurobet company did not specify the size of its investment.

Chance TV’s launch is linked to the arrival of the Eurochance Lottery to Bulgaria, one of two major legitimate lotteries to serve the market.
