Back-to-back original episodes of “24” carried Fox to victory Monday night among young adults, while it was a modest bow for ABC’s new unscripted skein “Miracle Workers.”

According to preliminary nationals from Nielsen, “24” was a close second at 8 with “24” (4.8/12 in 18-49, 11.9 million viewers overall), and the drama thriller then notched its best regular-slot score since its Jan. 16 premiere (5.9/14 in 18-49, 14.0 million viewers overall), winning in 18-49, 25-54 and all key male demos.

CBS, which took the night in adults 25-54, was paced as usual by “CSI: Miami” (6.0/15 in 18-49, 18.2 million viewers overall) and “Two and a Half Men” (5.7/13 in 18-49, 17.1 million viewers overall), with “Courting Alex” placing second in between them at 9:30 (4.5/10 in 18-49, 14.0 million viewers overall). In the opening hour, “King of Queens” (3.6/9 in 18-49, 10.6 million viewers overall) and “How I Met Your Mother” (3.7/9 in 18-49, 10.2 million viewers overall) came in third.

ABC was a little below par at 8 with “Wife Swap” (3.5/9 in 18-49, 8.6 million viewers overall) but held that aud at 9 with the return of “Supernanny” (3.8/9 in 18-49, 9.7 million viewers overall). Tear-jerker reality series “Miracle Workers” placed third at 10 with its premiere (3.4/9 in 18-49, 8.5 million viewers overall).

All three of NBC’s shows were up a bit week-to-week, with gamer “Deal or No Deal” winning at 8 (4.9/12 in 18-49, 14.7 million viewers overall) and “The Apprentice 5” (4.0/9 in 18-49, 9.8 million viewers overall) running third. “Medium” (4.1/10 in 18-49, 10.5 million viewers overall) closed out the night in second.
