“Heroes” will top BBC2’s winter and spring schedule, unveiled Tuesday.
“We are delighted to have this really special piece of TV drama,” said Roly Keating, controller of the pubcaster’s second terrestrial channel.
“It’s the first big U.S. drama we’ve shown on the channel since ’24,’ ” Keating said. “There wasn’t much at the L.A. Screenings that caught our eye this year, but ‘Heroes’ did, and I predict it will have the impact that ‘The X-Files’ had all those years ago.”
Other highlights of the new season include reality skein “Verdict,” made by “Wife Swap” creators RDF, in which a fictional court case is tried; and “The Life and Times of Vivienne Vyle,” a satire about a fictional TV talkshow host played and written by comedienne Jennifer Saunders.
Docus in the lineup include “The Seven Ages of Rock,” from the makers of “Soul Deep,” featuring artists such as Jimi Hendrix and REM, and “The Conspiracy Files,” in which conspiracy theories surrounding such events as 9/11 and the Oklahoma City bombing are examined.
