BBC Worldwide does Dutch deals

NOS pick up new series of 'Little Britain,' 'Extras'

LONDON — BBC Worldwide, the commercial arm of pubcaster BBC, has licensed more than 170 hours of programming to Dutch broadcasters NOS, RTL, SBS and Talpa, it announced at the Mip TV mart in Cannes.

Pubcaster NOS picked up the new series of “Little Britain” and Ricky Gervais’ “Extras” as well as the dramas “Life on Mars,” “Doctor Who” and “Afterlife.” NOS also nabbed Stephen Poliakoff’s “Gideon’s Daughter” and “Friends and Crocodiles.”

SBS bought “Hotel Babylon” and the science docudrama “Superstorm” was pre-sold to RTL.

Talpa acquired 26 hours of programming including “Surviving Disaster” and “The Rise and Fall of Rome.”
