Designers like Stella McCartney and Paul Smith are showing the sleek, retro look, but can you get away with shorts at the office? Indeed, if you pair them with a blouse or blazer and chic kitten heels-avoid stilettos (too slutty for the water cooler) and espadrilles (too casual for a client meeting). But if your office attire discourages mini-skirts, opt for the Bermuda-length version. Either look requires a toned lower half.
