TV director Peter Ellis died April 24 in Los Feliz. His age and cause of death were not disclosed.

Born in London, he entered the TV biz after high school, working as a floor assistant for Thames Television. He then moved to Granada TV, winning a place in their Director’s Course. He continued to work in film and TV in the U.K. as a director for the BBC and Granada.

For U.S. television, he directed for series including “Falcon Crest,” “Knots Landing” and “Matlock.”

His recent work includes episodes of “Numbers,” “Criminal Minds,” “Supernatural” and “Third Watch.”

He also directed several episodes of the “Highlander” series and miniseries “The Secrets of Lake Success.”

He is survived by his wife Christy; two sons; two brothers and a grandson.
