Production manager Dodie Foster died of lung cancer May 23 on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia. She was 77.

She worked as a unit manager, assistant director, and finally assistant producer on films including “Harry and Tonto,” “Funny Lady,” “The Color of Money” and “Men Don’t Leave.”

A member of the Director’s Guild of America, she also worked on movies for television and series such as “Quincy” and “Murder, She Wrote.”

She is survived by two sons, a stepdaughter and four grandchildren.
