Warner Bros. TV has tapped Brett Paul to head up the studio’s business, legal and financial operations.

Paul, who was named exec VP of business affairs, operations and finance on Monday, replaces Craig Hunegs. Hunegs moved up to the Warner Bros. TV Group as exec VP of business management earlier this month.

Paul will report to Warner Bros. TV prexy Peter Roth and oversee the division’s business, legal, financial and administration departments.

Roth called Paul a “brilliant negotiator” and said he held the “utmost respect” for the exec, with whom he’ll now be working more closely with on various issues.

Paul previously served as exec VP of business affairs. He first joined Warner Bros. TV as VP of biz affairs in 1995. Since then, he’s handled negotiations on several key licensing, overall, production company and talent deals.

Exec joined Warner Bros. TV from All-American Communications, where he was VP of business and legal affairs. He also worked in corporate and securities law at various New York and Los Angeles firms.
