Troy Searer and John Foy, formerly of 3 Ball Prods., have set up production banner Tijuana Entertainment and entered into a first-look pact with VH1.
Searer and Foy executive produced cabler’s “Breaking Bonaduce” and “Supergroup,” and recently sold the network eight episodes of an untitled docudrama starring Tom Sizemore (Daily Variety, Aug. 31).
After collaborating on “Bonaduce,” a chronicling of Danny Bonaduce’s trips between therapy and rehab, VH1 exec VP of production and programming Michael Hirschorn pushed to make a deal with the pair.
“I knew we’d found producers of uncommon, perhaps unique, skill and sensitivity,” Hirschorn said. “Their documentary work displays an uncanny ability to hit the right emotional note and never take the easy way out.”
Upcoming Sizemore series will follow the actor as he attempts to make a professional comeback after battling drug and sexual addictions.
Searer and Foy also have produced several seasons of NBC’s “The Biggest Loser” and the WB reality series “Beauty and the Geek.”
