Valenti became prexy of the org shortly before he ankled as head of the Motion Picture Assn. of America in 2004.
Also joining the org’s board are Jonathan Klein, chief and co-founder of Getty Images, and investment manager David Valentine.
Friends of the Global Fight was founded in 2002 by Silicon Valley entrepreneur Ed Scott and is supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
Valenti said in a statement, “These four preeminent American leaders will give new vision and energy to Friends as we re-double our efforts to combat three malevolent pandemics so fatal, and needlessly so, to too many people in the world. I am proud to be reunited in this important effort with my longtime friends and colleagues Barry Diller and Peter Chernin.”
