WHERE: Hollywood’s Cinerama Dome, followed by a lunchtime fete at the ArcLight’s Fountain Courtyard.
BACK TO BASICS: Howard said that the project had been in development for years as they tried to find the right medium. “We tried live action and CGI, but a re-invention of ‘Curious George’ just didn’t resonate,” he explained. “We felt it was important to honor it as a classic with the original H. A. Rey look. It’s a welcome throwback and flies in the face of today’s animation tone.”
HIS FATHER’S VOICE: Ferrell acknowledged that this was a different kind of role for him. “It was fun to play a nervous Nellie,” he said. Thesp also said that he remembers fondly the stories being read to him at school and plans to make them a part of his young son’s life. When asked what the tyke would make of his dad as the Man in the Yellow Hat, he said: “Either he’ll think it’s great fun — or he’ll hate it.”
