U.S. dramas, comedies to vie at Monte Carlo

Series selected by Producers Guild of America

PARIS — “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Lost” and “24” will battle it out for the drama prize at the next Monte Carlo TV Festival, while “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “My Name Is Earl” and “Weeds” will compete for comedy honors, organizers announced Thursday.

U.S. series selected by the Producers Guild of America will compete with shows from around the world.

Competition entrants in these and other categories will be announced closer to the event, taking place June 10-17, slightly earlier than it did this year.

Monte Carlo’s Golden Nymph Awards will be handed out at a gala ceremony June 14.
