HOLLYWOOD — While there wasn’t much news to be had at last week’s network portion of the semiannual TV Critics Assn. press tour, the party train kept on chugging.
After a few years’ absence, the TCA returned to the Ritz Carlton Huntington Hotel & Spa, which meant stars and their entourages had to schlep out to Pasadena for the booze-and-schmooze-a-thon. NBC and the WB made things easy for crix, bookending the network tour with low-key bashes at the Ritz..
Both ABC and CBS Corp. took over the Art Center College of Design’s Wind Tunnel building for their respective parties. Alphabet’s event was themed to its upcoming miniseries remake of “The Ten Commandments,” but featured stars from most of the net’s shows, including one of the “Desperate Housewives” (Eva Longoria).
Eye’s party celebrated the new CBS Corp., with prexy Leslie Moonves hosting reps from CBS, UPN, Showtime, CBS Par Television, King World and LA stations KCBS and KCAL. Moonves, with wife/ “Early Show” co-anchor Julie Chen, was impressed by the turnout of 850: “You throw something and you hit a star,” he said.
Ever-hip Fox kept things Hollywood (literally) with a bash at Citizen Smith.
